1. Logistics & Practicalities

Where is Maud’s Meadow located, and how do I get there?
We’re about 10 minutes by car from Buckie, Keith, or Cullen, and around an hour from both Aberdeen and Inverness airports. For our own retreats, we’ll be in touch with travel options based on the retreat — and we're happy to help with coordination if needed.

What’s included in a typical retreat stay?
Everything is included — accommodation, meals, and all scheduled activities.

What kind of accommodation do you offer?
We have six 5-meter bell tents, a safari tent that sleeps up to 6, and one room in the house typically reserved for instructors or facilitators.

What are your check-in and check-out times?
This depends on the retreat. Details will be provided on each retreat’s booking page.

2. Booking & Policies

What is your booking and cancellation policy?
For our own retreats, you’ll receive a 50% refund if you cancel 30 days or more before the retreat. After that, no refunds are available — but bookings may be transferable if agreed upon with our team.

Do you require travel or medical insurance?
We highly recommend travel insurance and require all guests to have valid medical insurance.

Is a deposit required to hold a spot?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance due 30 days before the retreat. Guest facilitators may have their own policies.

4. Accessibility & Comfort

Is the space accessible for people with mobility needs?
Yes, though we recommend reaching out ahead of time so we can support specific needs. Indoor bathrooms are accessible, but outdoor showers may vary in accessibility.

Are there bathrooms and showers onsite?
Yes — we have a hot indoor bathroom, and outdoor bucket showers for those who enjoy a rustic experience.

Yes. We have a small outdoor kitchen and access to our indoor fridge.

Is there Wi-Fi? Is this a digital detox space?
We do have Wi-Fi, but we encourage guests to unplug where possible. Phones are discouraged during workshops and group sessions.

What’s the mobile signal like?
Mobile reception is available but may be patchy depending on your provider.

7. Environment & Values

What is your sustainability ethos?
We strive to keep our footprint light — most of our furnishings and materials are second-hand and chosen with care. We source food locally where possible and encourage guests to use public transport (Keith train station is nearby) to minimise environmental impact.
