🌿 The Beginnings of Maud’s Meadow

Hello and welcome to Maud’s Meadow — we’re Michaela and Alex, and we’re so excited to finally begin sharing this journey with you.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working quietly (and not-so-quietly) behind the scenes to bring our dream of Maud’s Meadow to life — a space rooted in nature, creativity, and connection. It’s been a true labour of love — muddy boots, long days, and all — and we’re just getting started.

In a spontaneous stroke of luck (or was it destiny?), we found and purchased six beautiful steel-framed bell tents from the lovely team at Pegs & Pitches down in Eastbourne. They were an unexpected gem — sturdy, elegant, and just what we needed to begin shaping the Meadow. It only took us about an hour to pitch the first one (thanks in large part to Alex’s height!), and standing inside it for the first time felt like stepping into something magical.

Next up, we’re heading to the Cairngorms to pick up a very special addition — a safari tent from Phil and Sarah at The Lazy Duck. This tent has already lived a rich life in the Scottish Highlands, and we’re honoured to carry its story forward at Maud’s Meadow. We’re keeping its original name, Basecamp, as a nod to its roots and as a promise of many more memories to come — for us, and for our future guests.

We can't wait to welcome you here when the time is right — to share this land, these tents, and the moments of peace and play they’ll hold.
